We have auditions for all performances at The Playhouse, and anyone is welcome to come out and show us what they’ve got!

THE UNDERPANTS, by Steve Martin

From Steve Martin’s “wild and crazy” comic mind comes the funniest story ever about dropping your drawers. Theo Maske has a problem: his wife can’t seem to find a pair of underpants that will stay up. His plan to avoid scandal by tucking his bride away at home spins out of control as a wacky group of suitors stumble and bumble their way toward Theo's charming, undie-challenged wife.

YOU CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE, by Pat Cook

The folks who run Marvis Garner Bed and Breakfast get most of their business when travelers suddenly find their cars won't run. An undercover reporter stops to rent a room and expose the dirty doings, but gets sidetracked by the charms of small-town life and love when the owners' pretty niece turns his eye.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, adapted by James W. Rodgers, based on the Frank Capra film

A classic tale that celebrates the essence of the holiday season with warmth, spirit and tenderness is back at The Playhouse by popular demand. George, Mary, Clarence The Angel, Mr. Potter and all the citizens of Bedford Falls spin a special holiday tale that reminds us all that this life is "a wonderful life."

WHAT ABOUT LUV?, book by Jeffrey Sweet, music by Howard Marren, lyrics by Susan Birkenhead

Comic zingers and a trio of singers make this witty musical about the perils of modern love a lyrical winner. Old school chums Milt and Harry bump into each other on the Brooklyn Bridge one day. Milt has grown weary of married life; Harry admits times have been so tough that he's going to jump off the bridge and end it all. When Milt's wife Ellen shows up, a reversal of fortunes and partners happens with madcap musical results.

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, by Jeffery Hatcher and Mitch Albom

Mitch Albom's best-selling novel is brought to life in this magical theatrical tale of a special life-affirming friendship. Based on the funny and feisty lessons Albom experienced while visiting his college sociology professor Morrie Schwartz during the final stages of the older man's struggles with Lou Gehrig's disease, this is a story that reminds audiences that we all may choose to love and be loved every day we are blessed with the glorious gift of life.

LOVE, SEX, AND THE I.R.S., by William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore

Sharing a room can help a fella save a dime, but sharing a tax return is a little trickier. Jon and Leslie are roomies and good buddies, but the I.R.S. thinks the men are a married couple because of Jon's money-saving plan to list Leslie as his beloved wife on his tax return. When an audit notice comes dues, the bosom buddies do what any self-respecting taxpayer would do: they figure out who looks better in a dress.

DEARLY DEPARTED, by David Botrell and Jessie Jones

When the Turpin family patriarch conks out suddenly, it ends up being a drop-dead funny problem. His widow wants his final epitaph to read "Mean and Surly" while the rest of the clan deals with their loss in frantically silly ways. His eccentric family tries hard to get him to his resting place, but putting him in the ground ends up being a real challenged for this colorful group of Southern misfits.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, a musical from Lisa Lamber, Greg Morrison, Bob Martin, and Don McKellar

The fun begins when a die-hard musical theater fan sits onstage and shares his favorite Broadway cast album, the "socko boffo" song and dance extravaganza THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. As the record spins, the musical comes to life in the man's apartment, with characters popping out of the woodwork and sidestepping through his Frigidaire. This joyous Tony Award-winning musical celebration is a love letter to the classic Broadway musical full of eye-popping glitz and stunning surprises!
