March 25, 2010 – ELM GROVE, WI - SUNSET PLAYHOUSE SEARCHING FOR PROFESSIONAL SINGERS AND RISING STARS.
The Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove announces auditions for experienced adult professional singers and area high school students for its Musical Mainstage series. Adult professionals will be paid if cast. Auditions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, at the Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road.
Musical Mainstage is a subscription series of informal concerts requiring four professional singers and one Rising Star high school student per show. Styles include Broadway, standards, pop, and rock. Rehearsals are minimal, and performances are held on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Students who will be enrolled in any area high school from September of 2010 to June of 2011 are eligible to be named a Rising Star and if selected will also be featured in one of Sunset's SideNotes cabaret shows.
All singers should bring 32 bars of sheet music in their key and will be assigned a 5-minute appointment. An accompanist will be provided.
